The Presbytery of Cayuga-Syracuse is a collection of the Presbyterian faith communities, representing thirty-six congregations and one new worship community in Central New York State. We are part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), a historic Protestant denomination, and have been a vital part of this region for more than 200 years. Our congregations are engaged in a wide variety of Christian mission and ministry in the communities in which they are located.
The Synod of the Northeast is one of sixteen large, regional “mid-councils” within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), geographically covering New York, New Jersey, and all of New England. Within the Synod, there are twenty-two presbyteries (of which the Presbytery of Cayuga-Syracuse is one), about 1,000 congregations, and approximately 200,000 members. The Synod of the Northeast supports the mission and ministries of its presbyteries, and provides special support to several dedicated ministries: Ministry in Higher Education, Early Ministry Institute, Racial-Ethnic Ministries & Financial Aid for Studies
